Qvivi, best in Palermo
Nov 2019
I could probably write a book as to why this my favourite bar to visit, but I’ll keep it short and simple: the people, staff and regulars.

O.K. a little more.

The theme of the bar is 60’s, 70’s music and tech of the era, floor to ceiling is covered with musical instruments, posters, transistor radios, portable televisions, a couple jukeboxes and and? A glitter ball.

A €1 buffet is available between 6 and 9pm, I cannot personally comment about it because I rarely venture out before 10pm, however many many people have thanked me (and Qvivi staff) for recommending they try it.

For a more substantial meal, the people here also have a pizza and burger bar 20 metres away (Grillo), meals can be ordered from Qvivi.

These guys know how to cook.

If your experience of a burger is McD’s be prepared for a culinary shock.

A friend of mine who now teaches English here was previously a restaurants manager in London, he ordered a pizza which was not on the menu due to various allergies, 10 minutes later his order arrived, at first he smiled then burst out laughing. 5 stars!

I am originally from the very north of England, my then local bar served beer, lager and spirits. A gin and tonic would be considered a cocktail, here a cocktail is an art form. For people used to a cocktail culture then probably nothing new, but for me watching the making of a cocktail was live visual art. That said I still prefer draft beer!

Music in the main is via their Spotify playlists, but occasionally local bands live.

If there is a particular song or songs you would like to hear probably best to ask inside at the bar, but please do not ask for Queen for my sake!

I have mentioned a few reasons to visit here but the main reason is the same: the people, staff and regulars.

I have no affiliation to the bar, just a happy customer.

Bad point: Closed on Tuesday.

Enjoy Quivi.

Aperitivo at QVIVI!!
Nov 2018
One of the few places where you can still enjoy a solid aperitivo with a buffet of delicious food -- chicken, pasta, pizza, foccaccia, eggplant, tomato and mozzarella! One of my favorite places in the entire city. Very pet friendly.

Nice bar with 1 euro appetizers
Apr 2019 • Solo
This place was recommended to me by my hotel host. It is conveniently located not far from Quattro Canti. A popular bar for people to meet after work. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. You can find the usual drinks here and can get a (small) plate of appetizers for 1 euro. Sort of their version of happy hour.

So nice we went twice
Apr 2019 • Family
We ate out for a week in Palermo and this was our absolute favourite. The food tastes home-cooked and the portions are huge and great value. I had a sausagey-mushroomy pasta dish which was properly delicious. The staff are also really friendly, which to be honest was not typical for Palermo, being a busy city. The music was fun and the atmosphere relaxed. Great when travelling with kids.

True Aperitivo in Palermo
Sep 2018 • Couples
One of the few true aperitivo bars we found in Palermo. Many bars are doing sharing boards with a drink which they charge for. Here at Qvivi you buy a drink and choose many options from the buffet which is all of very good quality. A cheap night in Palermo. Just ensure you get there for aperitvo time 18:30 to 20.00ish.

The best pizza in Palermo
Sep 2018 • Family
We have discovered this place by accident, on our first night in Palermo cause our Airbnb was close to it. We ordered some pizzas and fell on our butts, how good they were. We came back after ten days and the experience repeated itself. After having tried other pizzas in the city, this is my favorite place. The prices are quite cheap too, ranging from 6-12€. The square is nice, piazza Rivoluzione. You can have nice cocktails too.
