This is the most extensive archaeological museum in Sicily, with its wide collection of fossils and figures of Ancient Siracusa including the famous statue "Venus Anadiomene," in which Venus rises from the sea.

Treasures abound here. If you are a history buff, you will spend hours. Even if you are not, there are amazing things to see. The burial caskets are something to marvel at.

Impressive collection, good English speakers , kimd employees, well organized, worth to visit when in siracusa. Also outside there is a little park with a nice fountain and a lot of trees, very nice.

You will need a good half day for this as it is very large and on three floors. Excellent displays well set out and very interesting. Could do with a cafe half way round to have a break though. Well worth a visit.
