Review of: Etna North Face
Instead of going for the more standard south side cable car mountain top experience we decided to book a tour with Davide on Etna. He comes highly recommended on TripAdvisor but we hadn’t expected it was going to be this good. Davide offered to pick us from our hotel, but we enjoy driving and decided to meet him at Linguaglossa a small town on the Etna. Davide took us to a local delicacy shop where he treated us to some delicious local cheeses and ham. After that we followed him by car around de hairpin bends of the volcano. From the first stop it was clear that Davide knows everything about Volcanoes, Etna and the region as a whole. With great enthusiasm he spoke about eruptions, lava flows, the forming of craters, but also flora and fauna and Sicilian culture and he tailored the tour to our interests. We spent the full day with him, but we could have easily done another day or two as there is so much to do and see on Etna. Davide is a great guide but also an overall great guy, would highly recommend him and visiting the north side of Etna, it was an amazing experience 🌋

Review of: Etna North Face
We did two tours with Davide last year and we are SO glad we did. Our Etna tour was amazing and he is so knowledgable (and makes sure we were SAFE the whole time). Apparently there are tours that go beyond the current restrictions on Etna and he refuses to do that because it could be deadly (Etna is still an active volcano btw). On the way to Etna, Davide stopped in one of the towns and we got these very simple but delicious sandwiches to eat on the hike up. He took care of every detail. After the tour, we had included the wine tasting (which I highly recommend) at one of the Etna vineyards. It was so fun and Davide wasn't just a tour guide, he actually hung out with us like a friend. The second tour we did was a wine tasting when we were in Ortigia. He took us to the Nero D'avola region and chose a great vineyard. I wanted to see as much as possible, so before the vineyard, we had decided we would check out a few spots along the way: Noto (before the wine) and then this small fishing village/tuna fishery, nature preserve (after wine) were some spots we hit (worth it!). We had such a fun day and the next time I come back, I will 100% use Davide for everything. Cannot recommend his services enough.

Review of: Etna North Face
My friend and I had a lovely day on Mt. Etna with Davide (we'd booked the private tour version of Mt. Etna Morning). He was completely flexible as to when and where to meet us, and was flexible on the day to change his itinerary based on our needs and interests. He provided information on every aspect of the mountain from vulcanology and geology to botany. We talked about local culture, foods, everything. It is completely evident that he LOVES both his job and Mt. Etna. (He was taking as many photos of the mountain as we did!) When I didn't want to attempt to climb up one of the cinder cones, instead of disappointing my friend by skipping it, he found me a warm, sunny place to sit and wait for them. Days later, we were still talking about how much we enjoyed the tour and thought it was worth every penny.

Review of: Etna North Face
We went to Etna with Davide. He had taken the trouble to inform us, beforehand, of what the options were for the trip and he advised us on clothing. We were picked up from the accommodation and driven to a village on Etna where we selected our lunches which were freshly made. The walk on Etna was very well planned by Davide and he is an excellent and very informative guide. He is also aware of the safety aspects involved when leading such a trip. if you are thinking of taking this trip then try and get Davide as your guide.
