This is a gem of a place! I was here on a hen party with approximately 12 of my friends and we decided to go to the New Mamma Mia store on our way back from the town center. The wine collection here is by far one of the best ever! The rosso collection indeed was to die for! And as if the wine isn't good enough, the staff was so happy to accommodate us when we wanted to try out the different wines! The place really lifted up our Taormina experience to the next level! Highly recommended!

This business has been going for generations, Fabrizio who is a very hard working guy also runs the wine and spirits shop next door is a really helpful smiley guy. He is very knowledgeable on his wines. You can buy water, and all the other necessities you need. Opens every day until 10pm. He will also make your lunch if you wish.

There are of course several enotecas around town Taormina, but none - to my experience - with such a knowledge and passion for Sicilian and of course Etna wines, as Patane Fabrizio. There is also one right up the street, where they answered my question on wines from legendary Etna producer Guiseppe Benanti with: "Here we sell only SICILIAN specialities" - yeah, right on man.... New Mama Mia sells all/nearly all top producers from the area, and Fabrizio is of course also eager to recommend (and you will get good advice!) wines and producers. There are also good opportunities to taste a couple of wines; of course those opened at the time. Although he may be talked into opening other wines! Take your time to look in the shelves, ask for advice, and be PATIENT: You know he also runs the alimentari next door, and runs back and forth all the time - and ALL day, from morning until night.
