This was such a respite from crowds every where. It was a very peaceful plaza with a beautiful church. I truly enjoyed this piazza. There are stores and restaurants close by but they don't feel intrusive as the do in some of the other piazzas.

It has a great food market and so many options. You don't need to go to restaurants. This is the best way to eat amazing local food.

We ate and drank outside. A market was going on at one end of the piazza and parents with their dogs were everywhere. Very happy and lovely place to take in Florence.

Go grab a beer and a pizza and sit on the steps of the church, it will be a life changing experience. I loved every moment I sat on the steps and enjoyed the slow paced life that exists there in Florence. Life is truly lived there.

This is a friendly, bustling square, very unlike the more formal piazzas on the other side of the river. It's the beating heart of Oltrarno, surrounded by cafes, bars and restaurants that are open late and likely to have a farmers market at midday. It's one of the few places where real Florentines are not outnumbered by tourists.

Lovely piazza which is the homer to a great flea market. Lots of interesting items, but be prepared to bargain. Also, don't miss the Michelangelo crucifix in Santo Spirito. It was a wonderful surprise.

In the morning, for a flea market (even there are a lot of chinese sellers), in the afternoon (starting from 6 p.m.) for a drink, in the night for everything. Lunch time and dinner in lovely places. For the art's lovers, the gorgeous Chiesa di Santo Spirito to visit enjoying her treasures... (in the morning) Santo Spirito is one of... More

I love this square because this is where I studies Italian many years ago. The market is very lively and colorful and there are always a lot of students around.

After crossing the Ponte Vecchio one evening, we wandered around trying to find a recommended restaurant. Found it , but it was closed. However, we had an enjoyable walk, and the piazza is small, park-like and is fronted by the pretty Santo Spirito church.

Staying in Pitti

Neighbourhood Profile
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
