Much more interesting with a guided tour to appreciate the history of the place, the friars, beautiful frescoes recently found and restored in the inner courtyard area. Potpourri is excellent purchase. Tasted the liquors, chocolates and anti-hysteria water.

We stayed at the hotel across the street in Florence and we accidentally stumbled upon this place. It's not to be missed. I believe they ship everything to the USA for you so you don't have to carry it home. My favorite items are: the...More

I love this hidden jewel, it's so unassuming and has such an interesting history. The building is beautiful, look at the marvellous frescoes ceilings and peer through the windows into the ancient cloistered gardens

Although this pharmacy is one of the oldest world wide, founded by Dominican monks in the year 1221, it's nothing but a tourist ripoff shop. Only the picture gallery tells from its long history. Unless you believe in alchemy and everlasting life, you may just...More

Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the
majority of the people arriving in Florence, which
might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists
come across the constant hustle and bustle of the
station before exiting, taking a few steps and
stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It
is impossible not to admire the the square, housing
one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The
