The piazza surrounding the Duomo is great to walk around and admire the Duomo as well as the many markets that are close by. Expensive coffee shops

A lovely building and well worth a visit. The stain glass windows were beautiful and the paintings on the dome breathtaking.

This area is hopping with excitement. Name brand shops, church with beautifully painted Fresco's and cafes with tasty treats all around is what you'll find here.

Stunning buildings, but best to visit later afternoon if you want to visit the Duomo or in the evenings if you just want to wander round. There are so many tours in the mornings and through to early afternoon that the whole area is mobbed.

Beautiful and serene what more can one say. The architecture and the ceiling and windows beautiful. To go around the church is free if you want to go around the rest you will need a ticket.

Amazing area in Florence. The photos do not do it justice or give an idea of size as it is huge. Pre book your tickets. Entrance to the cathedral is free. To go up the duomo and baptistry you pay

We stayed in the Piazza del Duomo in a small apartment on a side street and every morning the view was just incredible! You did not get sick of the sight of this magnificent building!

A relaxing & breathtaking piazza in the ideal meeting point if you get separated from friends or colleagues but if you want an inexpensive place to rest and refuel try the Irish Bar

Excellent place to start the tour of Florence; just look around to see the different architectural styles. Gothic, Renaissance, the Baptisterium and the Cathedral as well as other beautiful buildings that surround the square, is also a good starting point for other attractions such as...More

Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by
an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city.
The historic center is characterized by the immensity
of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the
brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does
not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni
Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is
enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city

You can visit it any time of the day. The restaurants in the piazza are open till late and you can always walk down the nearby roads and find lots of stalls for road side shopping.
