Walking around this area of Florence made us fall in love with this beautiful city. Hundreds of small shops, restaurants, gelaterias, and street vendors. But this place is certainly one to visit to experience a busy Florence.

Florence is a charming, easy to get around crammed full of history and wonders place. Every painted ceiling in the Palazzo Vecchio and the architecture of the Duomo and quaintness of the Ponte Vecchio are totally inspiring. Been coming here for years as it is "local" to one side of my family. Worth coming out of season though as it... More

There are numerous attractions in the center of Florence. It contains the PonteVecchio bridge, the Duomo and the Accademia Gallery with the David. You also have numerous cafes and restaurants and the leather market. It is a fascinating place with loads of history.

Surely one of the most picturesques attraction world wide - worth traveling for Florence - great to be there, just take care of huge tourist crowds.

The bridge was a lot of fun to cross and enjoy, Its always packed with people and very commercial full of jewelry stores but it is fun spot to witness when in Florence.

When I say Florence I can see in the front of my eyes 'Duomo', 'David statue' a masterpiece of Michelangelo, 'Ponte Vecchio' and not only. I recommend to all of you to visit Florence once in your lifetime because I can't describe the beauty of Florence, a unique place.

With lots of fascinating little alleys, architecture and shops, this is a splendid place to spend a day poking around, The leather market on Saturday is hand bag heaven to most ladies.

It's one of the most stunning places on earth, beautiful, historic, full of tourists and expensive shops. It's a melting pot of beauty, history, pomp, tat, poverty and riches. Nowhere else have I felt so comfortable walking down the middle of the street in a non-pedestrianised area, the cars give way to the pedestriansd who give way to the motorbikes... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
