Palazzo della Signoria, better known as Palazzo Vecchio, has been the symbol of the civic power of Florence for over seven centuries. Among the works of art safeguarded in the museum: the Cortile di Michelozzo; Michelangelo’s celebrated Victory in the Salone dei Cinquecento; Donatello’s Judith in the Sala dei Gigli; the private rooms of the Medici court and among these the marvellous Cappella di Eleonora, the chapel with paintings by Agnolo Bronzino.

This is a highlight that should not be missed. It was closed during my first trip to Florence so I had to go back and it was worth it!

Was amazed by the painting here. Along with the decor and splendor inside! For me this was one of the best sights in Florence. And yes I did go see Michaelangelo and also the Accademia museum.

Lovely museum, doesn't try to overload you with information but gets you interested, stunning views. We went with a 'firenze card' which is well worth investing in, most of the museum's in Florence are free admission and queue jump if you buy one.
