My family and I went on a tour from Florence this week. It was the Siena & San Gimignano Full-Day Tour with Chianti Wine Tasting. We were the first ones to arrive at the meeting point and the staff checked us in and asked us to sit down and wait. We arrived early with the expectation of getting on the... More

When we booked this prior to our recent visit to Florence it sounded ideal. We booked through the "Get Your Guide" web site just to be clear. The bus tour and driver for the trip were great, a really pleasant drive through the Tuscan countryside. However I was a bit surprised by the 60 people on the tour for a... More

Our excursion was toleave Florence and go to Siena, San Gimgnano, Montereggini and Chianti tasting. The bus was fiiled and left on time, our tour director was Brando. As soon as bus departed Brando... More

We used Albatravel for our transfer in from Florence airport to the city hotel we were staying at and I cannot praise them highly enough. The driver was in the airport waiting with his sign then helped us to his vehicle. He then negotiated the rush hour Friday night traffic to take us swiftly and safely to our hotel. The... More

We booked private transfers with Alba Travel from the airport to our hotel. Great service, very efficient, very clean vehicles and polite drivers. We would definitely use them again.

Good organization of tour, too bad the boat tour part was cancelled due to bad weather Absolutely worth the trip, the villages were beautiful, we particularly liked Monterosso and Riomaggiore, and would really want to stay in these villages for a night or two

If your are okay with a big bus tour, then this is a good recommendation. On our bus of 63 people, there were 4 different languages spoken. Our tour leader did a very good job of going from one language to the next. However, it got to be a little much having to listen to constant speaking since she had... More

This is by far the worst thing we did in italy. We took a day trip to siena and chianti. The tour was predominated by deal seeking pushy guests who arrived late after stops. After one such stop a couple arrived back 20 mins after designated meeting time and proceeded to scream at my husband and i because they waterd... More

Was an AWFUL 12 hour experience, which I just got off of an hour ago. No maps, a hot bus, and a tour guide who was non engaging. Only to name a few of the list of problems with this tour. Would love to have my 12 hour day back, as I feel I learned nothing about the Tuscan region... More

Staying in Pitti

Neighbourhood Profile
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
