Me and my family bought tickets to go to Barberino Outlet mall from the Santa Maria Novella Station stop got a receipt. While returning from Barberino, we showed the driver (Fabio) our receipt, but he still asked us for 25 euros extra. After getting up we found out that the receipt included our return fare also, and when we brought the matter to the driver Fabio, he refused to acknowledge us, and said since we already paid again, he cannot refund us. We then tried to explain to him that our money can be used for another passenger trying to get on the bus and the other passenger can pay us instead of paying him. He refused without giving any reason, and did not give us a receipt for our 25 euro return fare! Please avoid this service!…

There are 2 routes, we paid and waited at the railway station to board line A, queue was not too bad got on the first bus that came. We did the whole A route and stayed on until we got back to Piazzale Michelangelo (this is where you can get route B) where we got off for a drink and coffee. You get great views of the city. We then jumped on Line B the best part of route B is the journey up to a small town called Fiesole, we didn't bother to get off the bus there as it had started to rain. We always do the hop on/off bus as it is a great way to see a city and sights.…

We lived and loved staying in the Santa Maria novella area where everything was walking distance and no need for any taxis or any form of transport. To get to see the wider part of Florence, the hop on, hop off is just perfect. The statue of David on the hilltop of Michelangelo overlooking the town is something not to miss. Driving to Fiesole was driving into the hills was picturesque. A one day can work but if time allows a two day would do more justice …

After waiting for about half an hour and then being told the next bus would not arrive for another half hour, we decided to abandon the idea. It appears that the buses are regularly delayed by busy traffic. We intended exploring a further from the city centre. Be aware the bus does not visit many of the tourist attractions in the city centre.…

We were initially somewhat hesitant to use this service based on a number of previous reviews in Trip Advisor. Our hotel desk helped us get over that hesitancy quickly in a brief conversation yesterday morning before we set out exploring for the day. One has to understand that there are limits in any city that offers this service. We visit ancient cities like Florence due to the charm of very narrow roads and areas that can only be accessed easily on foot. If you keep that in mind and the fact that Florence has a lot of current road construction, then you can appreciate this service that can get you: a "feel for the city layout"; to the Ancient Etruscan City of Fiesole; near most major attractions within a short walk of one of their stops. Based on the construction around the city, the bus schedule was fairly accurate on pick up times at each stop (within 5-10 minutes). The open top can be hot in the summer weather. Thankfully it can be closed for rain as in yesterday's downpour. The earpieces for the audio can be faulty. Get another from the Guide at the front of each bus - no problem. The only concern I had was that one seat belt clip on the seat I was in was missing. This should be checked by the Guide on each bus and either replaced or the seat disabled until it is replaced All in all, a good and underappreciated service and good value - RECOMMENDED!…
