Amazing gardens & interesting house

The gardens are home to wide variety of unusual citrus species. You can only visit house as part of a tour - only in Italian. Plenty to see. Fun for all family.

First, there are very few tourists that attend this attraction. Second, plan ahead. Third, do take a phone in the event you can't walk from the road where the bus leaves you and you need to take a taxi ($19 Euro, nearly to the airport). it is an impressive country residence built on a panoramic terrace on the outskirts of... From 8.30 per hour a free guided tour starts with a volunteer who accompanies you in the various rooms and, if you are lucky, he/she will explain you something about the place, so you can enjoy the visit a lot. The garden is very nice although not so well-kept as it should, the view is very impressive, moreover the Villa... More

A beautiful tuscan villa with beautiful interiors and fascinating garden. Tje garden is open every day, the interior can be visited only once a week, and you have to consult the web to see schedules.

This villa has lovely gardens and exquisite rooms inside. It is worth a visit for this alone. However, the special summer opening times on the website are not the opening hours in real life, I would advise getting there mid morning or early afternoon as we tried twice to enter late afternoon and were told it was closed. You have... More

We were staying nearby so an easy walk to the Villa. Not sure what the moaning about the hill is about its not particularly steep and only about 1.5 km from the main road. We just missed the interior tour but enjoyed the gardens tranquility. Free admission a bonus!

The Villa Medicea La Petraia is a nice beautiful old villa a bit of a trip outside of central Venice. Nonetheless the trip is worth it as you enjoy lovely grounds in a great country home

To get to this villa you have to take a bus. You get the ticket from the bus station then you need to queue up at the bus info window inside Santa Maria Novella train station to get the info on where the bus stop is etc. For us this part alone took over an hour because of people misdirecting... Visiting the Villa Medicea La Petraia takes a bit of prior planning, plus a bus, taxi or car trip out to it - but touring it is worth all of your efforts. Now this is a Villa, in its true meaning, a country mansion fit for a King, or the Medicis. Huge interiors with amazing furnishings, art and decorations. Have... More
