I went here to visit Elizabeth Barrett Browning's grave. It was a little hard to access, as it is in the middle of a traffic circle, but you will be richly rewarded! It is no ordinary graveyard, but a very pretty spot with beautiful flowers...More

This cemetery was a lovely walk from my hostel. It is the final resting place of Elizabeth Barrett Browning, and many others. A nun at the front gate offers a guide, and there is a small gift shop. Funerals are still held there, although space...More

A cemetery is not usually a place on a tourist's must see list, but the Cimetero degli Inlesi (Protestant Cemetery) is a quiet oasis of calm in this city so worth passing through

This is one of the best delights of Florence. Walking the tombs and reading inscriptions, knowing Elizabeth Barrett Browning was sleeping among the pale lilac irises blooming during my recent spring trip was special.

Beautiful small monumental cemetery built with the old stones from Florence's old walls. It's a hidden gem, many florentines haven't visited this, but it's really beautiful in spring. The sculptures are unique, some have Gothic/Eclectic elements. I recommend to visit this in spring, in fact...More

Some famous burials here and an important piece of history. I recommend a visit if cemeteries are your thing.

The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a

students provides the tranquil surroundings for the
elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read
the daily newspaper. Home to several universities,
including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one
of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A
