We sat in this Piazza while looking at Santa Croce Church. The square had a little Flea Market going on with food, souvenirs, etc. A nice place to relax, eat and people watch while in Florence.

A quaint stop off point. Pizza, ice Cream and every kind of drink you may be looking for. If you happen to walk by, I am sure you will pause.

With the beautiful Basilica as the backdrop this large Piazza is good but with a bit of shade & seating (not just the restaurants) it would be perfect ! We sat on the Church steps with many others , had a cold drink and watched...More

Wonderful place to relax or stroll depending on your mood. Shops surround the piazza where you can buy cheap souvenirs or expensive gold jewelry.

Always a pleasure to visit Santa Croce. The piazza is beautiful in the late afternoon, or after dark, when the acoustics are those that are particular to more intimate Italian piazzas. There were some ruffian youths one afternoon we came and they kept coming up...More

Nice plaza, lots of jewelry and leather stores. Unfortunately, that’s were most Tour operators and guides take you to make it your designated meeting point if your going to do Florence on your own. Beware, that they all have establishments which the recommend obviously because...More

Piazza Santa Croce is a very nice place with lots of small restaurants on each side, where you can have something to eat or only a drink. Or you can only sit on an bench looking at all the tourists. We were there many times...More

Stop and stare at the beauty and symmetry of the
Basilica of Santa Croce any time day or night.
Unraveling around it are a number of architectural and
artistic masterpieces, from the Synagogue to the
Central National Library. As a hub for young people,
the area gets busy with people who want to have fun: a
continuous flow of tourists and locals become animated
by songs and dances.

Yes. There's a Taxi stand just in front of the square. But it's only a five to seven minute walk.
