Fun area to shop

This is a good place to shop for leather handbags as it is less touristy and less crowded. It feels as if this is where the citizens of Florence shop.

The grand marble facade of the Santa Croce dominates this wide, cafe lined piazza. Possibly best viewed in the afternoon when the sun will shine onto the front of the church, the Santa Croce is similar to the Duomo with green and white marble on the front, but if you sneak a peek to the right hand side from the... Another beautiful piazza and well worth a visit. Visit the lovely church whilst here. Several nice little restaurants surrounds the piazza.

Santa Croce is wonderful. The restoration of paintings and frescoes is fantastic. The leather school is a must and the tranquillity of the garden is so welcome as a haven of peace.

A very large square where the famous Florentine Calcio Storico is held. The spectacular Church Santa Croce is down one end and on each side, there are shops and restaurants plus a few stalls scattered around. A five minute walk to the river or to the centre of town, a lovely area.

I always like to visit the square as well as the church and workshops. Window shop in the leather shops, have a gelato. I like the Christmas market held here every year.

Visited Piazza Santa Croce back in December 2016. This is where you can find the beautiful Basilica di Santa Croce. There's also a Christmas market, selling everything from good food to wooden furnitures.

This does not take long to wander through and it is a bit of a farther walk to get to it but to see the massive tombs of Michaelangelo and Galilleo is worth it. I was impressed by their shear size and design.
