We stayed at the Villa Cora so this was the road into Florence. From this point forward be warned that you will get ticketed for driving in unless with a taxi or other kind of 'approved' transportation.

we passed thru several times a day to get into town we found a nice coffee bar just inside that we had breakfast at each morning an interesting and important entry to a most beautiful city!

Who else would be carrying a load of rock on her head? Our Italian tour guide says she is known as the crazy lady, other locals call it "unbalanced" or "headache." Huge demonstrations demanded it be moved to some other(suburban) location, i.e. out of here....More

Walking down from Piazzale Michelangelo, we haf the oportunity to see lots of monuments, squares and bohemian places. Florence is a city full of artistic elements everywhere you see. highly recommended to not miss any place. Porta Romana is a typichal arch

Built in the early 1300's, a typical arch which can be found in a number of Roman cities, this is the entry point to the old town and part of the old city walls that once surrounded the city still stand alongside this.

The Porta Romana is an old Roman Gate in the city of Florence. This is a typical arch entrance way that was common in many 'Roman' cities.
