The Accidental Tourist was born in the spring of 1998 offering the first single-day hands-on cooking class in Tuscany. We welcome the curious and open-minded traveler in the heart of our Tuscan homes, for an authentic yet magical experience. We take a maximum of 8 people, but will go with as few as one: we never leave the solo traveler behind. We welcome families with children as we know how challenging it can be to travel with the young ones in the Old Country. AND, we charge for our tours only if our guests are happy to pay for their day with us.

My husband and I both loved this excursion, in which we were driven through the beautiful countryside, enjoyed the views from (and on!) a hilltop with a centuries-old tower, and made two kinds of pasta for our delicious lunch (with wine). Steve led the pasta-making with panache, Luisa prepared the delicious eggplant and scallion spread, the fabulous potato and artichoke... More

This was the highlight of our trip! We learned how to make our own pasta and had a beautiful lunch with what we made. The property was amazing, tucked away from the tourists. Our 13 year old daughter loved this as well. She even got to try a little of the wonderful wine we were served!

Excellent experience with wonderful sightseeing and food! Would recommend to a friend as the locations and staff were authentic, friendly and very entertaining. The one critique I have is I wish we got to try a few more wines at the vineyard, but overall we had a great time!

Convenient pick up in Florence, nice ride to an absolutely incredible location on top of a beautiful hill with a historic defensive tower. We had a fantastic time learning to make pasta from scratch and it turned out PERFECT! We were then treated to a lovely lunch with some additional dishes, things I hadn't seen or tasted before and really... More

Majla and Steve once again provided a experience my students will never forget. From the scenic location to the perfectly delivered lesson on pasta making followed by the best meal we had in Italy and concluded with a game of soccer with some local children, this was a day of pure magic. Whether you are traveling alone, with friends or... More

As soon as we arrived at their home we were blown away by how beautiful it was and the stunning the scenery. We loved having a leisurely chat over a coffee hearing about the history of the house before diving hands-first into pasta making. Not only did Majla teach us how to cook delicious pasta, we also learnt a lot... More

One of the best parts of our time in Italy. Steve guided us through the beautiful Tuscan countryside to a very cool winery and olive oil farm. He was very knowledgeable about wine and olive oil making. It followed with a fantastic pasta making class that made it seem like we were all pros. Marco then cooked up a wonderful... More

We opted for a half day afternoon wine tour our first day in Florence. Accidental Tourist was referred to me by a work colleague. My boyfriend was not much of a wine drinker and while I drink wine, my knowledge was minimal. On a monday afternoon at 2:30, we ended up being the only people on the tour. We were... More
