We sought out this little shop for our expectant granddaughter. Very helpful, don't be fooled by the size of the store, it is packed with beautiful clothing. They showed us everything they had to offer! Lovely experience.

A. Anichini, founded in 1912, is the oldest children's clothing shop in Florence. It is located in the 15th century Ricasoli Palace and has absolutely gorgeous handmade clothing for boys, girls and infants. These garments are made from the finest Italian fabrics and are finished with embroidery, knitting, hand-sewn embellishments and painstakingly detailed hand-smocking. Anichini allows you to choose clothes from hundreds of different combinations. For each style, you can vary the fabric, color, sleeves and other details. There are also matching hats, headbands, sweaters, jackets, and shoes. If you can afford it, shop here for your children. If you can't, invest in one classic piece, possibly something for a special occasion. I bought my grandson a beautiful christening outfit here. They did not have his size, so I ordered one and it was finished in four days. It is velvet with a Peter Pan collar and has hand-smocking on the bodice. Exquisite. I know it will become an heirloom and will be cherished for generations.
