Where the Ponte alle Grazie now crosses the Arno, is the location of the oldest bridge to cross the river. It was constructed in 1227, but has had to be rebuilt numerous times and has been renamed many times. The current bridge was constructed mid...More

Having visited Piazzale Michelangelo, I crossed this bridge on the way back heading to the Uffizi Gallery. The view east over the sand banks was unexpected, I enjoyed seeing some dogs down there having an off leash romp.

Crossed the bridge numerous time when returning from Florence back to our Hotel at the Villa Cora. From a pedestrian perspective, it allows for views over the Arno to the Ponte Vecchio.

Ponte alle Grazie is yet another bridge on the Arno River, with a bit of WWII history. The retreating German Troops destroyed the bridge which had existed for hundreds of years, since about the 13th century! A new bridge on the same spot was reconstructed...More

This is another bridge that crosses the Arno River. This bridge gives good views of the river but also of the Ponte Vecchio and the many old buildings that line the river in the central area of Florence.

The bridge itself is a modern reconstruction of a bridge that was destroyed in WWII. It affords good views of the Arno River and the buildings lining the river but also of the Ponte Vecchio. This bridge also carries vehicles.

We crossed over the Ponte alle Grazie having visited the Piazzale Michelangelo prior and then walking back into the city centre. It's a good location to take pictures of the Ponte Vecchio and other parts of the Arno and surrounding hills. A street musician was...More

This is a wide and wonderfully constructed bridge. The views from here are just amazing! I stood here and watched the sunset. The river below was simmering gold. What a scene! The bridge also has a comical "suicide man", a statue trying to jump of...More
