This museum is filled to the brim with artefacts from remote places - bounty from missionary adventures, possibly? A bit disturbing, seeing all of it there. No labels either, so hard to know what was what.

It's quite a steep climb up from the centre of town, but well worth it. Grab one of the splendid ice creams from the gelateria in the town square and stroll up slowly. The small chapel is charming but the attached museum was the real...More

From the town square it is a steep but not long climb up to the church. Midway, there is a viewpoint where you can see down the valley with a view of Florence. The church is very small but still being used. Next to it,...More

A wonderful trip from Florence. The monastery is very interesting, you can visit a museum and have a spledid look on the city of Florence. The acces to Fiesole is possible with public bus from Florence.

You can go here via sightseeing bus. It worth to do so to enjoy the excellent view on Florence. If you do not have these 2 hours, you can enjoy a similar view from Piazzale Michelangelo.

Where else in Italy could you find an Egyptian mummy? Well here. It basically has many artifacts brought back by missionaries and as such is very interesting. The location and view is superb. Definitely worth a visit.

Every time I am in Fiesole, I make the steep climb up the hill to the Franciscan monastery. This is a quirky little museum--my husband and I enjoyed it very much. Be warned all the materials are in Italian--and enjoy the eclectic collection of missionary...More

After a steep walk up the hill we came across this museum. You enter the museum via the chapel so don't just look in the chapel and then leave. A very interesting and eclectic collection.

Nice walk to the top of the hill will be rewarded with tremendous views. It is a beautiful area. There are two routes one is a nice winding path and the other is a steep road.

Probably. Be careful if you arrive at noon or during hours of the Divine Office. Last summer the monks were doing their prayer services at noon and evening. The church will be open, just be aware that if they are holding... More
