The Tower of Pisa (180 feet in height) was begun in 1173 and, due to its faulty foundation on unstable soil, leans precariously more than 14 feet out of line, preventing visitors from climbing its 300-plus steps to the top.

Wowser, if you're going to Pisa and you want a bucket-list experience, buy a ticket for the Tower. It's not the north face of the Eiger, but it does provide a couple of heart-stopping moments as you climb to the top. Your eyes are telling you a story that your feet don't quite understand. It's fantastic and I've done it... More

The leaning tower is actually the bell tower of the church close by. It would not necessarily be a "world" attraction if it was not leaning, however the fact it is and how they stabilized it makes the visit worth it. Be aware of the sleazy vendors on the way in and the many pickpockets in the enclosure.

It is just one of those things you want to see and tick off your list. The sight when you first see it does amaze you although you already know what is coming. Climb it, it is not that bad if you are reasonably fit. Not masses to see once at the top but just do it as there is... More

I went in the evening, the tower was in poor lighting and the weather was windy and horribly code. Couldn't walk around the tower either so not much fun.

... Don't get me wrong this can be amazing experience but see later in this review of some things to be aware of in advance! First off The Leaning Tower of Pisa Can be found behind Pisa's Cathedral and is the 3rd oldest structure in the city's Cathedral Square (Piazza del Duomo) after the cathedral and the Pisa Baptistry. When... More

This is one of my highlight of my trip to Italy. I visited Pisa Tower around 4pm in the evening (on purpose). I stayed till sun down seeing the tower in daylight & sundown. The glowing red sunset shining on the surrounding structures are really beautiful. After sundown the spotlights shining on Pisa Tower is also beautiful.

In the corner of the piazza dei miracoli stands the famous leaning tower. In the day time it was over crowded with people trying to get the perfect picture, we found it's beauty and architectural excellence easier to appreciate in the quiet of the night. Worth a visit to tick off the list, but would not rush to go back... More

I came to take a picture of the Pisa Tower. However I found it more interesting to watch the people taking pictures of the Tower with their poses. Please be wary of pickpockets. At least, I can tick it off my list now.
