As you walk up from Piazza del Duomo on the right towards the Rocca fortress, by the foot of the Cathedral bell tower, you will find a craftsman’s workshop where art, earth, music and passion blend together in magical harmony. Here, Franco and Esther welcome you into the world of ceramic art. They opened the shop in 1990 to showcase this fascinating ancient craft; you can watch Franco working at the potter’s wheel or Esther making charming clay animals.Open from March to November 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

We found the ceramics in this shop beautiful. Such lovely bowls. We wanted to buy one but no one wanted to help us. We ended up going further down the road to another so.

An interesting little local shop to visit. A working potters shop with hand made items to buy. The non drip oil decanters are original to Balducci Ceramics. Worth a look and to purchase a unique item.

Purchased a set of Olive Oil (dripless) and Balsamic containers, and a pair of ornamental flower vases (inspired by the towers), thrown on a potter's wheel by Franco (see him, some days, working with the wheel in his shop). Beautiful glazes. Also bought a small Daschund (dog); there are a variety of tiles and small animals in the shop that... More

San Gimigniano is well known by her beautiful hand crafted ceramics, and unique pieces, to create an tuscany atmosphere at home. For good prices you find your desirable wish; I bought 2 blue dish plates with vivid jellow lemons, very nice, and a big black Chianti cock, an artistic piece, symbol of the excellent Chianti wine.

Mr Balducci was kind to demonstration on his pottery wheel the process of molding the clay and before our eyes it was magically, skillfully transformed into a beautifyl sculpture (a tall vase). We spent about 15 - 20 minutes there. Thank you!

Who doesn't stop to admire the bright dignified Tuscan ceramic urns and pots found in so many fine locations? Here at Balducci Ceramics you can see a master potter at work on his latest creation. Also smaller pottery items if that giant garden urn won't fit in the suitcase. Enjoy. ...

Beautiful ceramics! For a small shop the items are varied from vases, cups and olive oil pourers. This time we bought a coffee cup and an olive oil pourer (which is working a treat). A lovely way to remember our trip to Tuscany and another lovely visit to San Gimignano!

I love beautiful ceramics, especially the offer to the tourists at every turn! In the Studio-store Balducci can not only see the fascinating process of creating pitchers, especially the author of the shape of the bottle for olive oil, water pitchers, plates, decorative tiles, lamps, but also to acquire it relatively inexpensive for such quality products, price. According to the... More
