Also known as Duomo's Museum I suggest to purchase the all inclusive ticket. Sculptures by Giovanni Pisano that once adorned the front of the Duomo are on ground level; paintings " the Maesta (Virgin Mary in Majesty) " by Duccio di Buoninsegna, is a masterpiece. If you are patient and wait for 20-25 minutes you can make the climb to... More

If you love history of arts it is a must. But, in all honesty, after being at the Museo dell'Opera in Firenze it felt a little poor and not well manteined. Good news is you don't have to pay extra to access this museum as it part of you OPA Pass. Otherwise I wouldn't recomend it.

With a little luck, you will have a nice day without rain. The views are beyond description. We took several amazing panoramic photos from her. This includes the Tuscany countryside as well as the historical sites.

Visiting the Duomo includes the Baptistry, the Crypt, the museum, the main cathedral and one other place we did not get to. The statues, paintings, frescos, etc. are beyond description. You must see it for yourself! I don't think I have ever seen such beauty in a cathedral. I am speechless!

This is a typical duomo museum in some ways, but is very special in another. As a cathedral museum, it houses some nice works of art, with the highlights being the Madonna and Child round relief sculpture and the Maesta and huge stained glass rose window by Duccio, which can all be viewed up close and personal. There are also... More

Recommend purchasing the all-inclusive ticket for the the Doumo which includes this attraction. Looks for great art and history on display here topped off with a climb up the winding steps to a rooftop panoramic view of the city. The walk up to the to is a little physically demanding but we're in our 60's and made it without a... More

I would highly recommend a visit to the Museo dell'Opera Metropolitana. It was wonderful to make the climb to the top of the ramparts and to see this wonderful city from above! Do not miss this opportunity to truly appreciate the vastness and beauty of this wonderful city!

This museum has high quality exhibits and displays of art and sculpture from various historical periods, and is very enjoyable. That said I must agree with those who especially liked the climb to the top of a wall of the once-planned south nave of the Duomo. Quite exciting, and views are spectacular. The Siena church intended to build the Duomo... More

The museum was pretty cool but I would be lying if I said thats why we went, we went to climb to the top...and it did not disappoint. We climbed up the tower to the viewing station at the top and the view is breathtaking. Not only are you on one of the highest points in the city, but the... More
