The magnificent complex of the Cathedral of Siena, its Duomo, houses a series of some of the most important monuments of the European artistic panorama. With its more than one million visitors every year, the Cathedral without a doubt represents the fulcrum of the entire complex, while other significant elements include the Crypt, the Baptistery and the Museo dell'Opera, all part of the impressive mass formed by the "Duomo Vecchio" (Old Cathedral), and the "Duomo Nuovo" (New Cathedral). Visitors will travel along a memorable itinerary to the discovery of self and the truth of faith through culture and art, the result of more than a millennium of Western history.

I was blown away. Learning the history and about the architecture of the cathedral left me wanting to know more. We had a great guide that was so informative. The panoramic views coming out of the cathedral left us wanting to stay right there. Siena is a special place.

We spent only a short day in Siena, but the Cathedral was a highlight of the visit. The shiny black and white marble inside and out distinguish this one from all others we saw in Florence and Rome, and we saw a lot! The signage was excellent and the crowd was not too large on a late afternoon in October... More

Wonderful!! This was definitely one of the highlights of our visit to Siena. Make sure you do the Gates of Heaven part of the tour. It's well worth it. And don't miss the museum -- it's amazing!

The tour was great even in the pouring rain! There was some walking up hill but the Cathedral or Duomo is absolutely breath taking! My husband did not want to go inside as we had already seen some fantastic cathedrals on our trip to Italy including the fabulous St Peter's in Rome. I found the interior to be exquisite with... The Siena Cathedral is very beautiful and ornate. We found it a bit overwhelming though because it was so busy. I think part of that might have been that we were there mid day. I would think that it would be quieter at opening or near closing. The number of people took away from our visit but we still enjoyed... More

One should visit this cathedral when they are in Siena. This is the first thing we did when we arrived in Siena. Very beautiful and grand inside and outside. Its worth visiting this place. We came in a not so busy time and so the place is not crowded. Had gelato in nearby gelaterria!

This cathedral is more magnificent than the one in Florence. It is not to be missed!! There is a museum, crypt and several other things that are included in the ticket you can purchase there.

This is truly over the top as far as cathedrals go. From the intricate marble inlaid floors to the stripped columns, to the shear size of the place. I have never gotten tired of visiting here having first seen it in 1983. I always come back and it never looses its majestic charm. A must see in Sienna.

It is an impressive building with fabulous architectural. I think you must visit it. The only main problem with all this churches-museum is that you need to pay for everything...
