Nice shop and fair* prices - but don't ship

This is a nice shop with an excellent assortment of great ceramics from around Tuscany and Umbria. Prices seem fine ... as long as you don't ship. In fact, treat most anything... read more

I read mixed reviews of this shop but since I was in Siena decided to investigate it for myself. The shop is filled with an interesting variety of ceramic pieces, so many that I wondered if they weren't all hand made. Additionally, the person behind the counter was unfriendly and unhelpful. I decided to take my business elsewhere.

Owner is very helpful and friendly. Shopped all around Siena and found his prices to be the best. Went back three times to purchase objects I had seen in other shops at higher prices.

Gift Shop 5 was a welcome place to buy beautifully hand painted ceramics while we visited Siena. With lots of shops to choose from and prices always high but still variable, we were happy to find Gift Shop 5. Great variety, beautiful quality and reasonable prices. The owner, Roberto, handled packing and shipping of our bowls and they arrived unbroken... More

My friend and i bought some beautiful ceramics from this store In September 2016. We were quoted shipping cost of approximately EUR60 for our products. We chose to purchase here because their shipping costs were so much lower than what others were quoting us. As it turned out, shipping was EUR160 for me and for my friend close to 200... More

I had 2 place settings that were 20+ years old, and I wanted to build up a larger number of place settings during our latest trip to Italy. Gift Shop #5 represented the artist from my old plates. We ordered 8 new place settings, all a slightly different pattern for mix & match. Roberto waited until I returned home and... More

Visited in October and loved the shop and in particular, a large hand painted platter. After a couple days shopping around Tuscany we returned to buy the platter. It wasn't cheap at 190 Euro, but they offered to discount it to 170 Euro to help defray shipping. They estimated US shipping with insurance to be 50-60 Euro for that size... More

This is a nice shop with an excellent assortment of great ceramics from around Tuscany and Umbria. Prices seem fine ... as long as you don't ship. In fact, treat most anything Roberto tells you about shipping costs back to the U.S. as pure fabrication to make the sale. We bought a 24" oblong platter and olio dispenser and it... More

The owner was very friendly and helpful as I looked for some Tuscan pottery. He shipped it back to the U.S. And the packing was phenomenal. It all arrived in tact within 2 weeks of purchase date.

We placed a custom order with Roberto on our visit to Sienna and are extremely pleased with our pottery. Roberto was always kind, helpful and responsive to my email inquiries, and he communicated extremely well in English. We received a beautiful platter that was exactly what we wanted! We will definitely visit Gift Shop 5 on our next trip to... More
