As the outside temperature was about 40 degrees centigrade we were really waisted after visiting main part of the museum and the castle (do not miss climbing the tower - around 100 steps). At least parking is very easy and free. Additionally you can buy...More

Beautiful setting, evocative, and informative. Particularly the 3D virtual tour of his life which we were reluctant to watch as it was 22 mins, but it did give a sense of his life.

Entertaining and enlightening visit. Amazing to think that the man himself lived there, touched those walls, walked in those stones. If you go to the tourist info centre in Vinci they will call a shuttle for you (€1 each way) to take you/bring you back...More

To me it was a special feeling to walk in the house were once lived Da Vinci. The environment is beautiful and at this moment there was a well maintained exhibition with a videomontage about Da Vinci

In the hills east of Montecatini, we found our way to da Vinci's very simple birthplace. Nearby, we explored an engaging, professional museum featuring his drawings and devices built from his specs. Made his brilliance clear, real. Simply awesome!

Spent an hour here as part of our tour. It was the end of a long day so was probably too tired to appreciate it much. However the location is stunning and we were there to see the sun set which was nice. There were...More

Whilst the house has little in it apart from a video on Leonardo's life, the house is set in a marvellous location surrounded by wonderful views of the surrounding hills and valleys. One can understand how such a child from a lowly background might be...More
