If you visit Assisi, make sure you take the walk up to Rocca Maggiore. It is a brief 10-15 minute walk up from the historic center (not terribly steep). There you will find a fairly well-preserved castle with spectacular views of the whole valley with...More

It was an especially windy day for a hike but the view was magnificent and well worth the biting cold! The grounds are well kept and there are several interesting things to see in the castle. But the view! Seriously!

This castle is beautiful! We walked up the hill to get here which was hard but rewarding once you got to the top. Lots of history and they setup rooms to show how the people would look in each.
