Assisi has been one of my favourite places so far in Italy. There truly is something magical about Assisi. The beauty and energy is wonderful. Highly recommend at least a day visit.

Just hike up there from the old town, and enjoy the approach, drink an espresso and some water in the pretty garden in front of the entrance, and then wander around and enjoy, totally beautiful views...

Stunning views all around. A bit of a walk but there is plenty of panorama on the way. Take water when it is hot.

Nice castle at the very top of Assisi. It is easy to understand why this has been a good protection and you get a good view from up there over the city and the plains surrounding the city.

This beautiful fort is right out of the Middle Ages. It's worth the climb to the top. The building is great, the view from the top of the hill is breathtaking.

A bit disappointing. Some fine views over the countryside and town, but not really much to see in the castle itself. At least there is some information telling you about the history of the place, but it includes lots of names that are not really...More
