The trail from the Basilica down to Santa Croce in the valley behind Assisi is very beautiful and well maintained. A very nice sculpture garden at the beginning. From Santa Croce be sure to take the trail back to the Third Paradise, which are fields...More

The service and offerings are excellent. Good for a late supper too. Great sandwiches, pastries and relaxation. Mostly Italians there. Looks directly back at the Cathedral.

It was the last day of the pilgrimage and we discovered the gate in the wall and went through, rather like Alice entering the Wonderland. A new world opened up to us as we enjoyed the walk through the wooded valley to the little chapel...More

I just spent 3 weeks in Italy. Getting to kneel at St. Francis` tomb was a very spiritual experience for me. He lived until 1236 so kneeling there you could really feel The Holy Spirit. I was much more moved there than St. Peter`s Basicila,...More
