Unless you are up close, it is easy to miss the detail and beauty of each of the individual panels. A good guide book will provide you with details, however most are easy to figure out.

Just outside the duomo is this fountain that tells much of the town's history in carvings. This city was founded and defended by the Etruscans long before the Roman period.
