Perfect for a non-rainy day. Also very nice for a family with small children, there is a petting zoo and small shows. A little bit expensive for a one-time ticket, but they do offer a fair value family whole day ticket.

A nice Zoo very close to Basel Train Station. It does take around 4 hours to visit the entire zoo. It is worth the money you pay (21 Franc per person).

The new elephant area is extremly nice. You can see that they are putting much thought in how to keep the animals busy and give them a lovely home. The zoo is great for all weather... there is a lot to see indoor and outdoor......More

Being located inside the city they still managed to keep it look natural with lots of green. Nice walking paths, well maintaned fish tanks, big restaurant, seal feeding, etc. Easy to reach from city center even by foot.

They normally do walk the penguins on a daily basis, in the morning, but this depends on the weather. Please do check the website for the exact times - or give them a call in advance, just to be sure that you don't create... More
