Nothing overly exciting, quite relaxing little trip across the Rheine. About a 3 minute journey. You could walk one way and catch a ride back.

The little ferry travels backwards and forwards across the Rhine with good frequency in August. Cost 1.6CHf so was not expensive compared to everything else in the city!

You have to do it :-) Just sit, relax and enjoy the journey :-) the boat takes you from one side of Basel to other side, you will enjoy Basel from a different perspective and you will like it

The ferry in Basel runs every day (365 days/year) 9am to 8pm in summertime 11am to 5pm in wintertime

Yes you can take a pram. You may want to sit closer to the cabin for shade, and its rarely windy to the point that water splashes on deck.
