The crossing takes only a few minutes, but the fact you are in a boat powered only by the currents makes the experience a bit special. We were entitled to one free crossing with our Basel travel card.

We visited quickly Basel on our way across Europe, we were very pleasantly surprised the Rheinfahre was working on 25.12! Our 2 year old daughter was amazed by the silent boat :)

Delightful mini-adventure. Fascinating non-motorized float across the river using currents and tillers. Great shortcut up the hill to the Munster.

It's a fantastic experience to silently cross the Rhine by one of the four ferries. You will see the town from another angle.

We enjoyed a calming drift across the river on the boat. It's not expensive, and gets you to the other side. What's not to like?
