Beautiful monument in a lovely city. This is one of my favourite things about Bern, and there's a puppet play every hour.

As with most astronomical clocks they perform on the hour and this one does not disappoint. Mine the crowds as they get large for the hourly performances.

Beautiful and very clear and loud . You can see the boy in gold banging the bell at the top. Lovely sound too

Nice tower to see, most people wait for the puppet play every full hour, which in my eyes is overrated. Also the surrounding of the tower is not really beautiful, too much public transportation driving around by any time. The almost similar clocktower in Prague is much more special and better matching to its surrounding buildings.

The clock tower is a landmark that you will be disappointed to not see if you visit Bern. There are a number of clock towers across the city - and Switzerland more broadly - that all have historical significance, but this one is certainly the stand-out of them all. It's inch-by-inch design, size, it's surroundings, make this a wonderful sight... More

We timed our meandering through the city so we could watch the clock. By modern standards the movement of the figures is stilted and minimalistic, but to think about all of the engineering required to run this historical clock is amazing! Would love to have taken the tour that allows you to see some of the mechanics inside! Definitely a... More

The Clocktower or Time Bell is really beautiful and is a landmark of the old city of Bern. In Swiss it is known as Zytglogge.

A very beautiful and amazing clock tower, gives a feeling of historical clocks, all old clocks in Swiss still work as good as new. This clock is in action every hour, try to be there before 12 to see it in action for long duration and nice play. It's beautiful and must see in the city.

First let me say this is a must see attraction for any visitor to Bern BUT I wouldn't say that the top of the hour visit is a must. The history is incredible but the motion at the hourly chimes is just a small short amount of motion. We even heard others waiting with us saying "Is that it?" We... More

Nice example of architecture and engineering. Located in the main center of the relatively small size
