We visited this free museum on a Saturday and it was not crowded at all. Would definately suggest it, especially on an indoor day. I would give it two hours to explore adequately.

Another visit and still a complete satisfying visit. Plenty to see with some extremely rare dinosaur bones and the other usual areas. Just avoid the cafeteria if you can as food is below 1 star rating on TA (we decided to go for quiche and croque monsieur and they were abysmal)... Overall though you don't really come here to eat... So amazing and so inspirational. This Museum is so well arranged and thinked out. I however didn't find the time to visit it all but I will definitely return back when I will revisit Geneva which I will next summer.

So it's free off charge! Wich is a very good thing and rare, cause everything is costing something nowdays. I think it's very good place for kids and families. And there were lots of families there when I was visiting the museum. Ok but not for me!

The new exhibition is great. Put together at the end of 2014 this exhibition now has one of the larges full dinosaur skeletons in the world. There's some good footage of the digs, and history lessons for the kids, there's even a large thigh bone to touch. I think this would be fun for all ages.

It's free entry - great start. Stunning displays of all types of fauna throughout the ages. I have never seen so many bird species assembled in one location - one for the ornithologists for sure - no shortage of other life forms

It's an interesting tour for children, with thousands of birds and mammals. However it's quite old, contains a mix of real (stuffed) animals, and not real ones, and that can be confusing for children. Also, no English signs. This is one of the places English explanations could be important, at least to know the right name of the species.

The MHN is a normal natural history museum. They have a lot of stuffed birds from the lake region. And that is the biguest part of the museum. They also have some african animals and sea creatures. Also the level about crystals is nice if you like these kind of stuff. Unfortunately when you have been there once you have... More

Main exhibits are traditional stuffed animals in posed habitats. Good for kids to see actual animals but nothing unusual. The standout exhibits were the touring dinosaurs. The huge Skegness were spectacular. The history of dinosaur discovery from the days of dragons and legends to modern day was very well laid out and contemporary.

This is a really nice free museum in Geneva. Some nice animals to see (though some are in bad shape!) and some ORIGINAL (not casts) dinosaurs. Make sure you see Lucy!
