Swiss public transit is on time with excellent quality. With a one day pass you can take a bus ride to downtown Zurich, a ferry, a train/tram over the mountains, and then a train from Lucerne back to Zurich. A great day.

I took a day trip from Zürich Airport. I would allow for an hour each way, though it is slightly less. Trains arrive at street level. Out the front door, you're just steps for Lake Lucerne and the Chapel Bridge and Water Tower

As a first time traveler to Lucerne we found the Railway very efficient and easy to follow. The building contains may eateries and shops. The information is clear and the trains are on time. Very efficient way to travel.

As far as train stations go this one seemed pretty standard and nothing particularly special. It had the usual shops and food that you would expect. The burger king for example is one of the most expensive in the world, so coming here isn't any cheaper. The station is clean.

The train station is nice and has a nice, easy layout for the traveler -- it is close to all the city attractions and hotels

This railway station is not really spectacular, although it's relaxing to sit on a bench in the square outside. Inside there is the usual mix of shops and eating opportunities, plus spotless but expensive toilets. Because this is Switzerland, of course everything is well organised and efficient.

Use the information office situated on the street side - they were extremely helpful in advising about tickets (and providing the juiour cards). Thes junious cards for CHF 30 allows children to travel for free on the cable cars, busses, trains etc for a year. The swiss rail offices located on the first floor were also very efficient and helpful... More

I was very pleased to find a mall in the bottom of the train station! It's huge and not to mention, the trains are all very high tech, move smoothly, and don't have many problems. This train station is my top favorite to travel through

We stayed in Lucern for three days. All our travel for three days are from this station only. This station has connectivity for across Swiss and options for bus travel also. The schedule and the maintenance of location is just great, we can completely trust on this and plan our day
