This area is so beautiful and with the Matterhorn, Klein Matterhorn & Gondola ride to the top it's amazing. You can ski, zip line, ice cave explore and hiking this is a wonderland. I;ve been here 3 times and 2 times I was not able...More
The resort is amazingly well organized and geared towards skiing. It has a Main Street where retail is located, electric minibuses to take people around and plenty of upscale lodging. It feeling of the architecture is that it's bit overcrowded within a very narrow valley....More
This place is spectacular for photos, but bring all your nic nacs because buying them here is bloody expensive, around 2.5 to 3 times more than other countries.

I did a couple of days in zermatt as part of my glacier express tour. Its a beautiful compact town with lots of things to see and do. I arrived on the train which is central and thus easy to walk to my hotel.
There’s only one area open, but good skiing for about 2 hours each day. They close at 2 and there is 1 lift open during this time of the season. It’s worth it because just being up at the mountain is a great experience.

You can walk around on Friday night and have fondue. Zermatt is a small and very cute village but you will not need a whole day there. We got the ski pass in the morning from our hotel Bellerive. You cannot really go to Matterhorn but you can go up to see it from better view @ Gornergrat by taking the train. You can see Matterhorn from Zermatt- best is from the river. We are big skiers so we had to go and ski- it is the place to be. I am not sure about kids ski areas- we left our kids with the grandparents for few days.

Over the years we find it not very exiting the skiing in Breuil -Servinia. And the lift to the Klein Matterhorn can be closed for a whole week. So If it is open. Go early. Buy a day skipass for italy. That's much cheaper... More
