Central station with eating opportunity for street food
This is a centrally located place near the Zurich Central Railway stations where there is an opportunity to tuck in street food around the world from Pakistan, Nepal, India, Sudan, Malasia, China etc. The place is crowded. It also sells various artefacts.

    Hauptbahnhof
Today, Zurich Hauptbanhof central railway station is the largest in Switzerland with the city's central location in the continent historically making it a railway hub. It currently serves over 2,000 trains per day, making it one of the busiest in the entire world. The station is built near the old town part of Zurich, called the Altstadt, at the confluence of the Limmat and Sihl Rivers. Numerous shops inside the station in the underground subway and excellent street food like jumbo hot dogs sold on take-away stall on the platform .

    Well organized and super busy
We used this station for boarding all the train for our outstation trips to Lucerne, Schaffhausen, Thun and other places. A very huge station with several entry and exit points. But easy to navigate and catch a train quickly.

    Vibrant hub of activity
This is the main train station in Zurich. The historical building, with its grand facade and a large clock tower along with a beautiful fountain just outside, has magnificent architecture. The Station has many shops, restaurants and cafes on the upper and lower floors to cater for train passengers wishing to buy their daily needs. The Station is not far (about 10 minutes walk) from the tram station where many tourist tours commence. The station is well-connected to different parts of Switzerland and to other European cities. The ticketing office on the upper floor has well trained staff who can also speak in English. They helped us save money by introducing us to day train passes. Munir D.

    Railway station
This popular railway station gets quite busy because of all the places one can get to from here. Apart from the trains, the place is also popular because there are lots of shops and eating places scattered across the various levels of the complex. An interesting place to pop into if you're a tourist.

Architecture and efficiency at the train station
I visited this building in more than one occasions including to visit Lucerne. The worker here are very helpful and pleasant. The system to buy tickets is well organised and this train station provides washroom ...at a cost of course. . I think in paid 2 euros which I found high. Overall it's a lively and beautifu, and veey busyl train station.

    First Rate Train Station
We used Google Maps to determine the best train and time for our trip. Good signage and easy to find the right track and train. Lots of restaurant and shopping options, including the Megro supermarket.

Beautiful architecture, beautiful placement, great amenities, not enough locker room storage though!
As the largest city in the country, this train station is pretty representative of that size. It is massive, and the architecture of the station building was incredible to see. They have a lot of amenities, fitting for being the largest city. But, being the largest city makes it... too busy for tourists looking to store their luggage. The luggage lockers were full when I arrived from a flight, and I was in disbelief that there was not much storage, but thankfully there was a third party luggage storage nearby who happily took my luggage and stored it. So yeah, just needs an expansion of luggage lockers, and it would be perfect.

Very easy to navigate - plenty of shops for food/gifts/clothes. Having to pay to use the WC is a bit tedious and unwelcome given this is such a popular station with a lot of throughput. Well signposted throughout and maintained cleanliness.

Popular railway station flanked by a famous monument. There is a constant stream of people doing their everyday lives passing through here. Scene itself shows the busy side of Zurich.

Centrally located, this was actually how we arrived in Zurich, so we took a moment to admire the station. Worth taking a moment.
