Interactive museum
Jul 2020
This is an interesting museum about several topics related to water and water management. The exhibit is very interactive and contains a lot of didactic games, so one can learn a lot without getting bored. Most information and games are available in English.

Although I enjoy the museum, I especially recommend it to families with children.

Interesting for those doing the water cycle

Visited this attraction with an open mind. There is reasonable free parking with some disabled spaces. Access is level and lifts inside are straight through for ease of access and egress. The reception staff were helpful and English spoken. The displays are aimed at children and are all interactive my grandsons thoroughly enjoyed themselves. There is an extra charge of you want to make your own shampoo and the lab analysis. If you are not interested in water don't bother otherwise a very informative museum. Easy disabled access even for my mobility scooter. There is a restaurant adjacent which we did not use

don't waste your time on this museum

The exhibits are old and dated. There is no cohesion between the exhibits which are haphazardly strewn in one hall. Some of the exhibits have running water, but have missing elements or other parts and the visitor is left to discover on his own that parts must have broken off decades ago and the exhibit thereby left inoperable. The accompanying text is in three languages and displayed in the oddest locations in the smallest of fonts possible, hardly enticing to be read. The computer interfaces of the more modern exhibits ( probably late 90's) mostly are stalled or don't react. This must be the worst museum rip-off we have ever experienced. The water organism lab. is paid separately from the museum entrance and is great fun for children. In effect the kids get to scoop water from the rivulet behind the museum and observe the organisms under a stereoscope.

Brilliant

Went here with my 8 year old. Very helpfull and welcoming volunteers plus paid staff. Interactive, great fun and educational. Good few hours spend here. Easy distance walk from Arnhem centraal station (train) Good place for a coffee and lunch too. My elderly parents went there after a while as the museum is geared towards education families. Very original and very dutch museum. Although I grew up locally, I left 25 years ago, I learned a few things too. Quite good translations into English and German.

Boring for children’s under 6 years old.
I expected that it was interactive, too much information on screens.

Better for families with children over 5
Jun 2017 • Family
We visited the water museum with another family. Our child is under 2. She did enjoy water area but for 2 adults at just under 20€ we could have just gone for a coffee next door and the kids play in the water area there for free. Really quite boring and money could be better spent else where. Children under 3 are free. The other family's children ranged from 4 to 10 yrs. they definitely enjoyed themselves more but all in all a small museum.
But lovely staff who speak perfect English

Even with a low boredom threshold I was out of this in minutes. I'm sure it was fun and worthy for kids with stuff on water resources, waste etc. Text primarily in Dutch.

The movie about water was nice and the set up of all the attractions was certainly appaeling for kids and their families. For us as an adult couple less attractive.

Great for kids!

We went to this museum with a bunch of kids and they had the time of their life. They learn all kinds of things about using water in the correct way.
