Looks nice from outside

We walked past this old town hall building whilst in the town and was impressed with the architecture of this old building. It is used for weddings etc nowadays as far as we are aware so we could not go inside. Beautiful nevertheless.

The building is not something special
It is placed in the center and you can pass and take some pictures.

Old City Hall
Apr 2018 • Couples
The building of the old city hall is beautiful but we couldn't go inside. It is now a national monument though it is still used for wedding reception etc. The new city hall is just behind the old one.

Fantastic achitecture

This is a beautiful building. I can't believe how old it is with a wonderful history. Well worth a stroll around the area. You can even see early Roman influence in the area during the reign of I Cladius. There is also numerous cafes in the area which serve fine food and beverages. Especially lovely on a sunny day.

A nice historical building, but couldn't visit it inside

The building does look nice from the outside, unfortunately that was it... I couldn't go inside.

It is nice to look at for a while, but I was surprised by the size, i would have expected a bigger city hall...

You can't miss it when you walk from the museum het valkenhof to the market square.

A big "meh" yes the architecture is nice but is that all there is as the old song goes or as Claire Pella might say where's the beef

Quite nice outside and inside
Sep 2015 • Solo
This town hall looks quite interesting from the outside. I'd say it's just a notch less beautiful than some other Dutch town halls in medieval hanseatic cities or in cities which boomed during the Dutch Golden Age. Also it burned down at the end of WWII, so everything is rebuilt, which makes the experience a little less rewarding. On Open Momuments day you can get a tour through the town hall, with some nicely decorated historic rooms, with many nice stained glass windows, nice old tapestries, original medieval basements in which suspects were tortured for confessions, and more. If you get the chance, I would definitely take this tour.

Great monument

Beautiful facade worthwhile to take a picture in front of. Its easily accessible as its along a shopping street with little traffic. The listed building has been well maintained and is a proud addition to the old (dating back to Roman origins) city of Nijmegen. Must see!

Beautiful Old Building
Apr 2015 • Couples
This is one of the many beautiful old buildings in Nijmegen that have been incorporated with the modern. The modern building is just behind. Stop and look at the lovely wrought iron in particular.
