Dam Square is pretty large and filled with lots of folks passing time and passing through. Very typical of many large squares (thinking about the one one in Mexico D.F.). I wouldn't recommend eating at any of the restuarants purely because Dam Square is loud...More

This square apopered in our life at a good point, after walking around so much that a beer at a sidewalk cafe here restored our strenght and our souls!

Local to museums, shops, eateries, pubs and the flower market. Trams run to/from here roughly every 5 mins - sometimes even more often.

Very nice and large place. A lot of beautiful views. Close to a canal where you can take a boat for a canal trip.

Just a busy tourist square. Wax museum and Ripley’s Believe or Not. Usual chain stores like H&M. Probably a pick pocket’s paradise.

Grotty tourist trap. A real disappointment and a horrible first impression as you leave the central railway station. Walk two minutes away to discover a very different Amsterdam.
