The first place you should visit when you arrive in Amsterdam. Also the place you should always end your night at. Bars will be open till 2-3am, while everywhere else will close at 1am.

Not quite sure how a recent reviewer could watch the ships going around as this is a land-locked very busy square with a major tram route through it and surrounded by often tacky bars. Not a place to bother making a journey to.

Nice square with friendly atmosphere. You can sit in many restaurants and look at water or a lot of ships going around.

The taxi fare is about Euro 50. We usually take one from the taxi stand just outside the ariport...but we've also reserved taxis online. You can see the reviews on TripAdvisor.
