Nice central square surrounded by shops, restaurants and bars. Always busy and crowded. Lots to see and eat.

The first place you should visit when you arrive in Amsterdam. Also the place you should always end your night at. Bars will be open till 2-3am, while everywhere else will close at 1am.

Not quite sure how a recent reviewer could watch the ships going around as this is a land-locked very busy square with a major tram route through it and surrounded by often tacky bars. Not a place to bother making a journey to.
