January in the park

A great place to have a relaxing stroll away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Busy with local people - and that's a good thing here.

Beautiful.... Quaint... Never wanted to leave! Was there during the winter and loved it. Thought it was so neat how there were so many parakeets flying around!

Really bright sunny day but lake frozen-adults and children having a ball skating. Park very busy-all age groups enjoying the fresh air and beautiful surroundings. Tea rooms full though so unable to avail ourselves of this recommended facility.

The Vondelpark used to be that past time park for the locals. Those times are long gone. But it is still one of the most beautiful parks in the world. Please try to go early in the morning and bring you running shoes for the 3km round

We arrived at Vondelpark a couple hours before sunset. Rented a bike and took a tour around the park. It was very pleasant indeed!

Spent an hour on a Tandem around Vondelpark. Great space, very peaceful place to visit away from the busy city centre hussle and bustle. A must see! Would be just perfect in Summer.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
