I saw many species of wildlife I didn't ever expect to see in Amsterdam. I wish I could name them, but my knowledge of birds isn't the best. So many people there, but so much space that it felt empty, which was so nice to go off in your own little world. If I ever visit Amsterdam again, I will... More

Me and my girlfriend visitors for a little walk. Luckily it was blue skies and sunshine, which made the whole park look stunning and green! The lakes are nice too. Take some food and drink and have a relax if you get the chance!

well laid out paths;trees, plants, water. wonderful birdlife .We stayed in a hotel on the edge of the park & walked through each day towards the museum district & canals. it was great to see so many happy people walking, cycling, exercising well behaved dogs, running, or just sitting & relaxing. it must be amazing in the summer.

It is a little crowded but the park is so huge so you can find secluded spots. It is absoloutly apprpriate for running, skating, biking and any other fitness exercises. In that time there was no flower or green nature but I believe that it would be incredibly beautiful in summer. The park is reachable via trams easily.

A very nice park with a lot of life and activities. Furthermore, the park's story is pretty amazing. A nice place for a chill.

We were staying only 5 mins away from the park entrance and as we needed to kill a couple of hours we headed for a walk around the park. It was very pleasant, trees, lakes, birds, cafes and a view of some expensive looking houses on a lovely sunny day made it a very nice experience. Still have to watch... More

A great place to sit and chat with your friends, or to visit and picnicking with your family and loved ones. Sadly it was raining when I visit it but it was still a great afternoon.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
