A walk along the canal gives me the perfect setting to clear my mind. The boats move along and glide by leaving me elated and waiting for the next one to approach. I just love these boats.

This is a nice place to see while cruising on a canal boat through the old city, many boats converted to houseboats along the canal I believe there are over 2000 permits for permanent houseboats along the canal route

This area is a nice one to walk around, it's calming and the traffic through the canals in this area is regular but not rush hour. The canals are wider so there are lovely houseboats which are actually barges with large homes built onto them...More

This tour shows you how this trading city made a living by leveraging the canal infrastructure. You learn how they taxed homes by their width and hence the houses are narrow but tall and you see how they transported and loaded goods into the buildings...More

Awesome Canals are a great testimony of this historic city of Amsterdam which has been a designated UNESCO World heritage sites. The scenes are just amazing full of coloured houses, shops, cruises moving around the canals. Just awesome.

We loved this part of Amsterdam, it is so cosmopolitan and offers great cafes, view of the canal and if you are game enough, Cannibis ice cream. Did enjoy the canal boat

The boat houses along this part of the canal were of historical value, partly for tourists and minority for genuine local residents. The place was clean and quiet and visitors would like to sit down for their cups of coffee while watching the canal cruise...More

This is a lovely canal to just sit in a cruise boat and see the many beautiful buildings as you slowly glide by. We enjoy it more in the mornings before the canal gets too crowded.

Both the canal and the street wrap around the city center on the west, south and east. The Jordaan, where we stayed for a week on house boat in mMay, is in the west, Great neighborhood location.

A great walking city. Very safe. My teenage nieces walks on their own even deep in the night. If pickpocketting reaches the evening news, it says enough about the city. Have fun in amazing amsterdam.
