Expand your world at NEMO Science Museum. In the largest science museum of the Netherlands you will find proof that science and technology can be captivating for all ages. The remarkable building on top of the IJ-tunnel offers five floors of exciting hands-on activities. At NEMO you can experience the joy of science and technology, by blowing gigantic soap bubbles, watch an enormous chain reaction and experiment in a real laboratory. In a variety of exhibitions you can 'Take a journey through the mind' or learn that there is more than meets the eye when it comes to sustainable electricity and smart transportation at 'Smart Technology'. Enjoy a magnificent view over Amsterdam The creative mind behind NEMO, build in 1997, is Italian architect Renzo Piano. He had a clear vision for his design of the NEMO building, with its very own piazza 22 metres above water level. The spectacular roof terrace has a magnificent view over Amsterdam and the Eastern Docklands. You can access the roof terrace free of charge. The roof terrace and cafe in NEMO are the perfect places to sit back, relax and enjoy a drink.

If you have children, they will likely be busy all day here. If you are an adult, skip this 'museum'. Everything in there seems to be geared to children. I was a bit disappointed to be honest, took a quick walk through with the included entrance with the iamsterdam card.

This is the most interactive museum that I have ever been. Children get crazy with all the attractions, but adults enjoy a lot too. It is a wonderful place to science lovers, we can discover a lot of interesting information about different aspects from nature. I was not expecting a whole section about human feelings and I really like that.

If you're looking for something fun to do with the kids (even the older kids, you know the one, your husband) this is a great experience and allows for the fun introduction of science and how important it is to every day life. Nemo is a must do family day out!

The museum was very busy at the time of our visit. So we had to queue in for a few things. Still, we managed to try lots of things ourselves. Our girls also had a great time. Apart from the 'Chain reaction' live-experiment. It did not work out twice. So we decided not to waste our time there. The entrance... More

Been there with a 6 and an 11 y.o. ladies. The museum is really for kids, with a lot, a plethora of fun activities. There is enough explanation to understand what is going on, but never to the point of becoming a lecture. The whole place is a very ludic environment and the kids had a real good time. There... If you want to have fun through science and learn something this is the right way. Regardless if you are a kid, teen or an adult, fun is guaranteed. However, I recommend going there from the opening hours until the end, I was there 2 hours and I was not able to see and experience everything. Tip: If you have... More

If you don’t have kids or you are to into science you probably don’t want to go there. For kids this is amazing, an interactive museum with loads of stuff to try out. It is an interactive Sciencemuseum and seems to be an everybody’s darling especially when you have a kid’s birthday party or the school does an excursion day.... More
