Sugarfactory in Amsterdam is a dynamic, open-minded and creative place...

Sugarfactory in Amsterdam is a dynamic, open-minded and creative place where club, live music and theatre meet. The club regularly hosts local and international DJ heroes such as Andre Crom, Frankie Knuckles, Lunice and Black Coffee. Sugarfactory is also an upcoming stage for live music, offering the perfect venue for both small and intimate and larger-scaled gigs. The main venue - with its large stage and red velvet curtains - doubles as a great theatre location, boasting performances from The End Girls and comedian Greg Shapiro.Since the renewed small hall was opened in 2012 - a characteristic and intimate area alongside the main hall - Sugarfactory has been open 7 days a week, starting from early evening and stretching into the night. Inclusion of the extra stage, Sugarfactory serves as a popular springboard for upcoming talent, such as live bands, singer/songwriters and young organizations with remarkable initiatives.

We went on a Sunday evening, it was a special night for Jazz and funk, R&B lovers.. It's opened until 5am on a Sunday night which is great if you want a late drink.. not far from central either. If you want somewhere to go out on a Sunday I'd recommend it, just don't expect any commercial music.

The place very-very tiny and very expensive. The staff are extremely cheeky and aggressive. I am soooooo dissapointed!

Upon leaving the club circa 12am a bouncer with a beard grabbed a female by THE THROAT and threw her out of the club. He also ASSAULTED two other WOMEN. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE A SECOND CLASS CITIZEN. As an FYI we were leaving the club of our own accord anyway (poor music)... More

Really tiny club with awful techno music with absolutely no lyrics. Hardly any room to move not because it was full but because the club was the size of a bathroom ! Not worth the money to get inside

Oh my what a night it was. Good small venue with a great sound system. Ellen played amazingly and after was on the dance floor when Magda closed. Great atmosphere inside and no trouble

I had good time there : DJ, people, room --> all good (it was a DJ of house, but I think they don't play only house music). Price was 10 euros. Drinks are not free (I wish it could be cheaper) but everything else is very good :-) !! Go there, dance, and have fun with good music and good atmosphere... More

So every Sunday night for the past 14 years, the Sugarfactory hosts the Wicked Jazz Sunday session. It's a combination of live band / dj set that really gets the crowd going with a mixture of jazz/acid jazz and electronic music. The band is made of a saxophone player, a singer, a dj and a keyboard player. The mood is very... More

The location is in the centre of Amsterdam, in the most busiest area of all kind of entertainment such as cafes with life music, theatres, movie theatre, bars, clubs etc. We were here for the concert of J.P. Harris. It was in a small cosy hall but the sound was less good

After reading the mixed bag of reviews of this club I was a little hesitant to go but everything went smoothly. Everyone seemed to comment on the bouncers but they were your typical straight faced club bouncers, I had no problem with them. If you're into techno I definitely recommend this night while you're in Amsterdam! It's free and good... More
