I chanced upon this pleasure dome and decided to step in - it's Amsterdam. It was very well put together with interesting as well as erotic detailing. Sometimes funny, sometimes quirky, great entertainment and a nice bunch of people coming and going. Not grotty at all!

Based over five floors, the museum has an eclectic assortment of erotica. There are some interesting drawings and designs, but on the whole, not worth 7 Euros entry fee. There is a children's area on the second floor, which seems incongruous. I think it is hyped as a more cultural experience, but the exhibits have no information on them. Not accessible... More

Similar to Madame Tussaud, this museum was a way to pass time, however, I wouldn't recommend it for 7 euros each. Yes it was interesting, allowed a giggle, however I wouldn't suggest it is worth the price

More “serious” than the sex museum and almost twice the price at €7 so there were no teenagers there and it was quiet. The most interesting thing about this place was the sketches by John Lennon. Basically if an item displays a certain part of the anatomy it was on display, whether it is pottery, salt & pepper shakers, paintings,... More

This is more of an erotic art gallery than a museum; don't expect captions or explanations of the objects on display - most don't have them so you will have to explore the multiple floors relying on a lot of guesswork.

Again another place to pass time. Wont take more than a hour of your time. Some interesting information about erotica. Again worth a visit if you have a few hours free.

This was a pretty entertaining little Museum. Larger than we expected & a good bit of fun. It was reasonably priced & had tonnes of interesting things to see. I think the only mistake we made was visiting it after the Sex Museum which was a bit better. I think most are a must to visit but I'd do this... More

We were in the Red Light District and passed this so thought we'd see what it was like. It's ok for a laugh. The museum is on a few floors and not really that big. We were amused by some of the things there and did get a laugh out of it.

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
