Beautiful canal centrally located. We were fortunate that our hotel was on the Singel Canal. This gave us a chance to explore alot of the sights along the canal as well as many side streets. I loved seeing the boats, the bicycles and the people....More

Easy access to a great array of restaurants and bars. A short distance to the station, trams and canal trips

Situated very near the city centre area, the Singel runs along its namesake canal in a well to do area of Amsterdam. Lots of cafes and bars and sitting at a table for two in 27 degrees in October sipping beer was a delight. Being...More

It's just beautiful to see all these canals, the boats, the traditional narrow and tall houses. Worth taking some pics.

The Singel is one of the many canals of Amsterdam. Not my favourite but as I have said in other reviews take a boat trip and decide on your own favourite.

We were a bit nervous as to how close we were to the district and the central station when we book our bnb. It was great. Peaceful and close to everything a few Red lights but definitely not the madness

I covered a few bits of the Singel as part of a 'canals walk' out of my Eyewitness Guide and it's got the earliest houses on it of the main canals. At the top end, by the station, it's the only one to get out...More

A relatively quiet canal with a busy flower market at one end. There is an occasional cafe and an occasional canal boat but it is not as busy as some. A good place to stay as its a relatively short walk to many other places

The menu is short and all the food is freshly made as ordered and presented with care. The day I visited, the cook was an artist and took extra trouble to serve a beautiful crepe. I don't remember the menu, but I know I... More
