This was a museum that my partner didn't much want to visit. It actually is quite grotesque in places when you see just how cruel people could be to their fellow humans. It's not a massive place but is on 2 levels in a dungeon...More

Honestly you don’t even realise how sadistic some of the tortures allowed back in the day were, honestly museum itself is very interesting there is images statues and descriptions for all, the place wasn’t too crowded so you have room to move in which was...More

This was a small dark area, perhaps what they were going for to encompass the whole "torture doom and gloom vibe". I personally got really bored. Became same old same old in no time. Id rather spend my money doing other more fun stuff.

Wud not recommend this museum. Very warm inside, lots of reading and 7.50 Euros was too much. We read everything and were in and out in less than 25mins

I liked looking at and reading about the devices. I found it fascinating, yet I wish it had more stuff in it. It was a bit pricey. If you have time to kill, it is cool to have a look. You do have to read...More

It was a nice museum, it was cool to see all those middle age machines. The downside of this museum is that you gotta read everything about each object! There's no electronic devices reading it to you. 7.50€ is too much for a museum that's...More

Came here unexpected, we were just wandering and stumbled upon it and had time to kill. We bought two tickets (which are overpriced) it was very dark inside, had a few ‘torture devices’ around, with labelling next to them, that’s about it really. You get...More

It's not actually a museum, but quite a small exhibit of a few objects and some images. The description of the torture machines are written in many languages but with embarrassing translations and plenty of typos. It is quite expensive and the ticket is not...More

What a fascinating museum, I really enjoyed seeing these old torture items and imagining what it must have been like. It was a cheap hour or so at only €7.50 too

I feel they use the word Museum quite loosely in this instance. You walk around a dimly lit building and spend all of your time reading. I became quite disinterested and a little tired after a while. Some of the torture devices are on display...More

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of
tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists
and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the
best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe.
Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops
of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones
Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods
such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring

Yeah! It really is a place where they take your money and hardly give you anything in return!
