This museum has an amazing and beautiful collection of pipes from all over the world. Ben gave a great tour and was very informative. One of the best museums we visited in Amsterdam.

It was a dark and rainy day, but my GF and I decided to visit various museums. The Pipe Museum was the second that we hit that day. Hold and behold, it became the highlight of the day. The setting, the exposition and, especially, the...More

Thanks for your enthusiastic review. Our collection of smoking pipes and its setting in the 17th C. canal house are both remarkable, surprising many of our visitors. Luckily our guides do love the subject and are able to take you on in all stories on...More

Such an interesting museum with an incredible collection of pipes! A gentleman showed me around and gave me the history of the development of pipes throughout different countries and continents. Beautiful pipes in amazingly great conditions (especially for those that are close to 1,000 years...More

You are quite right, the (private) collector of the museum collection has always been so selective that he bought only pipes in pristine condition. The quality of the items is one of the points of excellence of the Amsterdam Pipe Museum. We do have a...More

Very great museum with a historical context and facts etc. Easy to access. Quirky and fun idea and it's very informative. Pipe shop at the bottom too!

My husband is a pipe smoker and he made sure we scheduled time to visit this museum. We got in using the museumkaart. Our guide was very informative. You don't have to be a pipe smoker to enjoy the museum. I don't smoke but when...More

Fascinating museum with a huge collection of pipes. The people who work here are very friendly and have a huge knowledge on pipes, they helped me with an ancestor who produced them in the 1600s and gave me a lot of information to work with!...More

This is exactly the advantage of this specialized museum: the personal tour for visitors, fitting to their interest. And for the general visitor, our historic canal house and pipe collection is amazing for everyone.

We visited this museum after reading about it in a list of not mainstream attractions in Amsterdam, and we're not disapointed. Very reasonable admission price, with a guided tour. There are only three rooms, but they are packed with pipes, dating back to when people...More

Visited here on our last day as something to do to kill time. Walked in and smiled at the man behind the desk whilst my friend said hello to him, and spent a few minutes looking at the collection until the man aggressively shouted at...More

This is a typical reaction of one of those people that don't visit the Pipe Museum, but - as Eleanore wrote - killing time in walking into our shop. I happens more often that - mostly American - people with a lack of civilisation walk...More

You don't have to be a pipe smoker to get fascinated by this amazing little museum since it also gives a broad picture of the cultural context and development of the last couple of centuries. It is absolutely remarkable that one single person during his...More

We went here early in the morning and unfortunately the museum wasn't open for another two hours, however the small store was open. Nevertheless, I'm writing this review because I have to mention how knowledgeable and friendly the man in the shop was. He patiently...More

Thank you for your remarks on our shop, that supports the maintenance of the museum; so it is part of the museum organization. Since we specialize on pipes, we can offer a great choise of tobacco pipes of at least 3.000 shapes and brands. We'd...More
