Having recently been here for a conference, can happily say that thus building is beautiful. It's a huge space, with lots of history and looks stunning from outside and the inside and is a great space and easy to find and see. The staff I met seemed really friendly and polite, and i know they have conferences and exhibitions here,... More

Called in for drinks while the girls went shopping. Very impressive building both inside and out. Good quality beers on tap and in bottles served by very attractive waitress. Not cheap but worth it for the building atmosphere and service.

A really nice This is art fair with contemporary artists is in the Beurs van Berlage right now, just for a few days. Works of graphic art by Daan Roukens and many more. Photos, collages, paintings and many more. It's worth to have a look because you can buy the art too. We stayed for three hours talking to artists.... More

We didn't know that the art of banksy is at the town! When we saw Beurs van Berlage with the comercials we immediately decided to go inside! It is worth it's price. The exhibition is amazing, interesting, unforgettable. We are big fans of Banksy...if you like street art, graffiti, good art... you wont regret this! Been there for 2hours.

Read the reviews before going - people saying how disappointed they were that it wasn't more of a history of him etc etc. It never said it was. Banksy is the "unknown" genius of graffiti art and his perspective on human nature, sociology, politics and war is spot on. As a huge Banksy fan I was not disappointed - just... More

We went to visit the Banksy Exhibit. An unauthorised exhibit with paintings, screen prints and photo's about the work of Banksy. It was a disappointment. The entrance fee was too high for the experience. The exhibit is very sloppy. It doesn't tell you anything in context of the artist. We didn't expect that of the Beurs of Berlage.

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
